Plone is a comprehensive, open-source system designed for managing and publishing content on online communities, websites, etc.
Plone is based on Zope, an application that can be used as an Internet server.
When you install Plone, you access a location inside your own computer where you can edit content with amazing flexibility, adding as many elements as you can handle. Plone can be used by inexperienced users as a basic tool, and by expert users, too, who can adjust the editor to their own preferences without any trouble.
Plone incorporates a great number of additional tools that can be installed from an extensive list within the interface itself.
Once you create the content, be it folders or just individual files, you can share it. At this point, you can also give permissions to other individuals, groups, or entire communities.
