As its name suggests,
Mobile Atlas Creator
can provide you with a simple tool for creating offline atlases for various mobile applications and GPS devices. It comes with support for multiple Windows Mobile and Android based applications, such as TrekBuddy, AndNav and more.
The program provides an intuitive and well-organized interface that makes it very easy to use. The main window allows you to view the atlas content, a list of all the available maps, and create new ones with a single click. For every map, the coordinates and the zoom levels can be selected by the user.
There are several map sources available, for different world countries and zones. The application uses online map providers to generate the maps, such as OpenStreetMap, Freemap and others. The downloaded maps are cached for faster loading.
The selected map can be previewed in the main window, with or without viewing the map grid. In order to add custom points on the map, you just have to click on the desired location and assign it a name.
In addition to this, you can customize the layer settings, recreate or adjust the map tiles (width and height) and export them as PNG or JPEG files with a calibration MAP file. The atlases can include multiple layers, which can be easily merged using drag and drop. The built-in atlas converter allows you to easily change the format to make it compatible with a certain application.
If you are planning to use the map on a GPS device, the application enables you to add GPX files to the map, which allows the device to read map data.
Once you finish designing your atlas, the application can generate the maps and save them to a user-defined folder. You can then transfer them to your mobile device and load them into your applications.
Combining ease of use with powerful features, Mobile Atlas Creator is a great tool for creating your own maps for different mobile devices.
